Saving Gas Using Alternative Fuels Today!

A lot of things have changed since I was a boy. I remember the day I worked on the corner gas station pumping gas, cleaning of Windows and control of oil, the latter two of which are located very few stations doing anymore. The very idea of "full service" is more or less a thing of the past, but this is a topic of a different article. In those days I was working part-time at the gas station, the ozone layer was something that astronomers and astronauts worried and not something that had to worry about breaking down thereby burning a hole in this beloved planet we live on . The cost of gas was $. 16 a gallon - yes you heard me - $. 16 a gallon! We drove cars that did well in one day 18 miles per gallon, and not break the bank or increase the interest rate on your credit card just to fill the tank. We would ask Mom and Dad for a spot five to go cruising up and down the main street, not the credit card charge of $ 30 or more it takes time. No wonder that the old (like me) who are now parents of children in the drag Cruisin 'came up with the idea of alternative fuels to try and save ourselves a few dollars at the pump as well as save the planet we love so dear and still manage to almost destroyed in the last 30 years or so. A solution to this problem has been to make engines smaller, cars smaller and sometimes I wonder if they made people smaller - because I certainly can not fit into these boxes. I actually saw a car that could not be more than a lawnmower engine with wheels, which were larger than those I used to make my go carts when I was (still) a child! The car itself has been squared and it did seem a bit 'like a lawnmower going down the road, but hey - I'm sure that has great gas mileage! Another solution is to change the gasoline we run our car. What does this mean? Well, we remove the lead, an anti-knock agent which is needed in the past, because we have super computers tuning our cars for us we drive. We eliminated high-octane fuel that actually almost killed a lot of old muscle cars (Ahh.. The sound of a big V8 in the morning!). and then, we added ethanol (grain alcohol) for the gas groped thin out and help to run cleaner. A step in the right direction, but personally, I always liked my grain alcohol with a twist and only a gurgle of gin! The other solution that have come up with alternative fuels. So far, these consist of been added to the fuel we have reduced or eliminated lead content of fuel which was an anti-knock agent, but he did so pollute our atmosphere in which, after replacing it with grain alcohol (funny I used to watch that as a child not to drink to run my car up). The grain alcohol is supposed to reduce emissions and at the same time converting some of the emissions of water vapor that goes in does not help, but do not do as much harm. But this is not the solution. Did they come up with hybrid cars now that run on electricity the last word of a combination of gasoline and electricity switching back and forth between the two is the load on the engine dictates. You have to admit that this idea is quite clever and is still a nightmare for maintenance due to the weight of batteries carried in the car void any real advantage of having a hybrid car, first. Do not get me wrong, does something good is not enough to make a difference. You also have the companies and entrepreneurs who are working on pure electric cars. Unfortunately they have not made a big impact on the right track now, because it requires so many batteries the car is incredibly heavy and the batteries and the batteries do not last long in the car, so they must be replaced before each engine overhaul would take place. This is a test very expensive and you have to find a specialty store that would be able to do it for you. They have a battery that does not show some promise-it 's called the Battery "sulfur". The only problem with this battery you need a key in it in the field to keep sulfur in liquid at 300 degrees plus. Not a good thing to have rumbling around the trunk! Let's face it batteries just have not done at one level or the place where you can take to the road as a petrol engine. One of the most interesting things I have seen is called a hydrogen fuel-cell. This unique little device takes water and converts it into electricity using layers of special chemicals and minerals to separate the hydrogen in action from each other and causing its chemical reaction that generates electricity between the plates and then provides energy electricity to whatever needs to be done in this case, the engine in the car. This is probably one of the most exciting developments as come but does not create a lot of electricity only creating a few milliamps or applications here and there were ads running car can be hundreds of amps, especially during hard acceleration. So long as the development of this little 'bit' later as its good. I honestly believe that at this point in time because we have nothing else to run our cars are petrol, I believe the hybrid engine is the way to go. But electricity does not seem the way to go to me and additives for fuel inefficient or simply do not exist at this time. There has been a promising sector that I believe should be pursued. . . The idea of hydrogen is injected into an engine is a good idea, which actually came up with this some time ago running an engine completely on hydrogen. I must admit I was almost rolling FIRETRAP if I ever got into an accident the hydrogen itself is very explosive in small quantities so great care must be taken in its care and treatment. Now comes the idea that I read about. What if you were able to use water as fuel? E 'is abundant everywhere and is a renewable resource. "As a renewable, you ask? Well, the word 'drive for the flow of water were some of the components of the product itself is just coming out of the exhaust pipe is no guess? Water! The water goes into the air, and falls as rain. It's renewed! It 'a wonderful idea and some people are working on exactly this idea. Personally, I'm hoping that some big company takes the idea and runs with it. It would be the best thing possible for a planet and face possible thing for us as a race!
