Home made wind turbine using a Permanent Magnet Motor. This an put out up to 1200W of power. This project has 3 parts: Mechanical - At this point, only this part is done ie mobile mini-mast, hub, and blades. Electronic - The next step is to build a microcontroller -based Charge Controller for my battery bank. I'm planning to use a LM3S811 evaluation board that I already have.     More blades will get you spinning at a lower wind spind, but at the same time it will lower the top end speed. You need to do the math of how many rpms it will take that motor to produce a min of 13v.
